The Department of Veterans Affairs has added 3 presumptive conditions related to Toxic Exposure: asthma, rhinitis, and sinusitis. Military Service members may have been exposed to a variety of airborne hazards or contaminants resulting in one or more of these presumptive conditions and potentially other related medical conditions while on active duty in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Syria, and Uzbekistan during the Persian Gulf War, from September 19, 2001, to present, or the Southwest Asia theater of operations from August 2, 1990, to present.
To reduce the backlog of existing claims and address the surge of new claims stemming from Toxic Exposure, the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is actively recruiting to hire qualified team members in multiple locations nation-wide. This is an exciting opportunity to work at VA and make a difference in the life of a Veteran.
These positions will support the VBA’s Office of Field Operations (OFO), which provide operational oversight to the district offices and 56 regional offices within the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. OFO also facilitates outreach and public contact services across the nation and ensures quality and training for VBA employees who engage with Service members, Veterans, and their families through client services such as the National Call Center.
