Sending Happy Holiday greetings to all. I am excited to let you know that, as representatives of the Foundation and Coalition, we successfully delivered patient care bags to veterans receiving inpatient care at the VA Hospital during this year’s Holiday Inpatient visits.
The care bags, filled with items such as snacks, slipper socks, festive treats, and a Christmas card, were distributed as part of our effort to represent and express our heartfelt gratitude for the service and sacrifices of our veterans. This initiative not only brought comfort to those in need but also provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement. As we did this, we took the time to interact with the veterans, offer encouragement, and thank them for their dedication to our country. We brought a few smiles to the patients, staff, and ourselves along the way.
We were also grateful to be greeted and thanked by Interim Director Amir Farooqui, who expressed his appreciation for our efforts to support and uplift the veterans at the hospital, particularly during the holiday season.
We are proud of the impact the Foundation and the Coalition are making on the lives of these veterans. I thank you for your support so that we can continue to carry out initiatives like this, bringing joy and a sense of community to those who have given so much.
Thank you for encouraging Mo & Don Bross, Grace Sweeney-Maurer, Liz (Navy nurse friend) and myself to represent the Foundation & the Coalition. Each of us found it extremely rewarding. (A little thing not like building a hospital auditorium or anything like that). A couple of pictures have been attached.
Warm regards,
